About Me
I am…
an international vinyasa flow yoga practitioner and an 500-hour ERYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher by Yoga Alliance) teacher, teaching over a decade, with over 3000 hours of actual teaching hours. I have studied yoga with various teachers and practiced different styles, while growing up in Japan, and living and working in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, the United States, England and Germany.
For Me, yoga practice on the mat is…
a sacred, free and healing space where I can express myself through movements and shed my exterior shield, connecting to myself in a deep, authentic way, in the here and now. I feel passionate about sharing this joy of practicing yoga and moving bodies, and creating a safe space where everyone can uncover and connect to their full potential within. I strongly feel that yoga practice is for everyone, regardless of age, physical conditions, social-economic status. I do my very best to make the sequence accessible to practitioners of all levels, where we can be equally comfortable and challenged in our own boundaries.
My current focus is…
to bring yoga to the world and give back. I am driven to raise awareness and be an initiator of making positive change in the world through yoga, in the form of supporting existing grass roots activities empowering people in East Africa.
I am also…
a healthy healing lifestyle coach, based on traditional Japanese customs I grew up with. I am a proud mother of two active boys, passionate cook, globetrotter, environmental activist and wildlife conservationist, holding a Master of Science in Development Management from American University (Washington D.C.) and having worked for many years with Dr Jane Goodall. I am currently based in Bonn, Germany and shares my inspiration worldwide at retreats and workshops.
The tenets of my teaching practice
Celebrate that you show up. Show up consistently and intentionally. Put in the work. Know that progress is non-linear.
Express gratitude towards who you’re practising with. Where you’re practising in.
Enjoy your imperfection. There’s no need to always operate at 100%. Play with your levels of effort and scales of expression.
Before anything, let’s try.
Stay being curious. Come open with questions. Leave charged with more questions.
Turn comparison into motivation and action.
